GCP Daily Videos
The videos (which the GCP sometimes calls movies) require Flash or another SWF player like VLC media player or appropriate browser plugin. If you’d like, you can use Swiffy, to convert Flash SWF files to HTML5, allowing you to use Flash content on devices without a Flash player, as in this example of a Flash-to-Swiffy conversion.
New movies are made and added here as they become available. Automatic generation is used for new days, and older movies will be made of Egg data as time allows, probably in reverse time order. Created by Dale.
The brightness and size of the dots in the movies are proportional to the magnitude of the maximum absolute deviation of the Egg from expectation during one minute. In the lower left of the movies is a meter showing the cumulative deviation of the network over time. The filenames with
nv show the meter, and those with
hr are high resolution.
If you wish to have the daily movie on your personal (non-commercial) website, you can use the following code on a suitable page:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="720" height="360"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.global-mind.org/analysis/movies/daily.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <param name="menu" value="true"> <embed src="http://www.global-mind.org/analysis/movies/daily.swf" width="720" height="360" quality="high" menu="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"> </object>
The size of the image can be adjusted by changing the height and width parameters in two places. If the height is half the width, only the globe map will be seen.
